Preventing crises such as eviction, hunger, utility shutoffs, or other destabilizing events that are occurring or are imminent. When compounded with other unmet basic needs these crises can begin or worsen a cycle of poverty. We believe preventing these destabilizing events has a multiplying benefit for the mental and financial well being of recipients and their families.

Approved RRF applications are available up to $2500 per recipient. To qualify for Starfish Connection RRF, clients must meet the following criteria in one or more of these areas.

• Client is actively receiving services from an MOU partnering nonprofit organization.

• Partner has vetted the client’s request and can provide supporting documentation. i.e.: car repair bill, past due utility bill, burial or cremation invoice.

• The client has exhausted the support available from the partnering organization.

The Starfish Connection does not fund:

• Direct Payments to Individuals

• Debt Relief

  • Credit Card Payments

  • Overdraft Fees

  • Loan Payments

• Reimbursements for Previously Paid Bills

• Ongoing Financial Support

  • Regular Housing Payments

  • Monthly Utility Payments

  • Regular Medical Treatments or Prescription Payments

• Education

  • Tuition Assistance

  • School Supplies

• Recreational Activities Not Tied to Basic and Immediate Need

• Transportation

  • Bus Tickets/Passes

  • Auto Repair and Maintenance

  • Fuel

  • Purchase Assistance (E-Bike, Car, etc.)

• Immigration Fees

  • Legal Support

  • Employment Authorization Fees

• Past Due Bills

  • Medical

  • Utilities

  • Car Payments

• Gift Cards for Food and Clothing

• Rent or Eviction

• Burial or Cremation Assistance
